After School Cooking Course

Service Description

This 6 week course is an introduction to cooking at home without parental aid or the use of an oven. We will begin with a condensed version of the Governments Food Handlers course, taught by our resident chef, (The full Food Handler's Course with certification is a separate course.) as well as food and kitchen safety, proper equipment handling and knife skills. The goal of the course is to provide teens with culinary knowledge of basics dishes including breakfast, snacks, lunches, dinners and desserts using Air Fryers, toasters and microwaves. This will be a great skill for those who are home alone after school, do not want to wake parents for a late night snack or are soon off to post secondary education and will have no more than a microwave or air fryer in their rooms. The students will complete dishes weekly, learning proper techniques and food handling skills, culminating in a three course meal on the final day as well as a recipe book as congratulations from our team. Registration and payment must be completed by Friday January 23rd.
